Legal Intern
Located in our corporate headquarters in Miami, this position presents a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of real estate and commercial contracts with a specialization on development matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The role primarily consists of supporting our General Counsel on a variety of new site development, leasing and contracting matters including:
Assisting with negotiating, executing and tracking commercial agreements.
Legal research and general legal advice regarding real estate development issues, including design and construction matters, ADA compliance, labor laws and human resources, insurance, and environmental liability issues.
Tracking and managing contract obligations (including terminations and renewals thereof).
Condominium laws and related issues.
Other related commercial and real estate matters.
Qualifications
JD degree in process from reputable law school including a minimum 3.0 GPA (based on required transcript submission).
0-1 years of prior real estate experience and/or commercial contracts experience.
High attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work either alone or under guidance, appropriate to experience.
Reasonable commercial, legal, regulatory, and business acumen.
Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities while maintaining high attention to quality and detail.
Demonstrated ability to think “outside the box” by making recommendations for improvements to processes and tools.
Local candidates only; no relocation package available.
This legal internship requires a commitment of at least 15 hours per week.
