Total Safety is looking for a
DOT Driver
to join their safety conscious team! The DOT Driver drives a commercial truck and a variety of trailers to pick up, haul and unload equipment and supplies to and from job sites and customer locations. Cross trained in air work, gas detection, and rescue services. Complies with current DOT regulations.

Responsibilities
Follow safety and operations checklists for each trailer type prior to each haul and complete DOT and company‑required documentation.
Provide timely delivery and pick‑up to and from designated customer locations.
Inspect equipment for damage and/or excessive wear when picking up and note findings.
Comply with current DOT regulations, including timely qualification renewals, equipment and cargo security inspections, electronic logging devices, and other required transport documentation.
Complete all delivery and pickup documentation promptly and obtain customer signature to support invoicing.
Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
Conduct pre‑trip, post‑trip, and ad‑hoc equipment inspections per FMCSR.
Conduct weekly inspections on all non‑DOT assigned trucks and trailers.
Assist colleagues in stocking shelves with clean, tested equipment and staging/loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery.
Maintain work area and related areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Service customers and/or company‑owned electronics and respiratory equipment.
Assist as needed and perform emergency roadside repairs when required.
Qualifications
At least 12 months of verifiable DOT driving experience within the last three (3) years and a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate with a minimum of 3 months prior to expiration.
Insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving the company truck and a satisfactory driving record meeting FMCSR and company policies.
Valid commercial driver’s license (Class A, B, or C) with HAZMAT endorsement.
Valid driver’s license from the state of residence and proof of vehicle insurance.
Minimum manufacturer field‑level training and certification in respiratory and instrumentation.
Completion of internal forklift training and certification.
Knowledge of and compliance with current DOT regulations.
Working Conditions
Work may involve exposure to wet, humid weather conditions, vibration, high pressure or chemicals, shop traffic, highway traffic and road debris. Noise levels are usually moderate.
