This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.
Compensation
$17.00 to $23.50 per hour
Our retail sales associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $16.56 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. It sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
Responsibilities include analyzing store financial statements to ensure goals are met, committing to asset protection, promoting the business, and targeting new customer acquisitions. The position involves working with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
This position offers an hourly wage with commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues quickly.
Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and follow procedures to protect assets.
Ensure asset protection through inventory control and ensuring secure loans.
Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and reporting.
Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
Communicate clearly to ensure alignment with store mission and profit objectives.
Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
Assist as manager-on-duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, bending, etc.) in accordance with laws.
Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
May be asked to assist customers in exterior areas or retrieve products from exterior storage.
Minimum Age: 18 years old
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.
Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and standard office machines.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Analytical skills; cash handling experience required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong work ethic.

Commission Plan Information
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Store Manager Trainees have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit and personal performance. More details are provided during the interview process.
