Role Overview
The Patient Services Representative puts the patient first in every interaction. The role processes clinical paperwork from the sales team, reviews coverage requirements under private health insurance and CMS, researches patient benefits, obtains product approvals, and manages patient orders and documentation.
Responsibilities
Call clinics/patients to discuss cases and documentation
Process cases timely in line with departmental metrics
Complete case tasks and enter case data in the CRM
Cover pre‑authorizations, research coverage, and enter notes
Review order criteria, SWO, and identify requirement failures
Match insurance, review coverage, and discuss with patients
Update CRM with case requirements
Participate in departmental training sessions and a monthly Scribe or Google Meet session
Ensure seamless patient experience through accurate shipping and cost management
Required Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
1+ year experience in healthcare operations, customer service, or a similar role
Proficiency with SalesForce or Epic, fax, email, GSuite or Office, and outbound/inbound calls
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time‑management skills
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance processes
Ability to analyze and solve problems during the work process
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 40 pounds from the floor and to waist level
Must be able to kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms
Reliable transportation
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
