Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a PRN - Registered Nurse PreOp PACU
Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast‑paced Ambulatory Surgery Center committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our mission is to provide first‑class surgical services to the local community in a safe, comfortable, welcoming environment. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spine.
What You Will Do (Job Summary)
The Registered Nurse PreOp PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Candidates must be able to work at least 6 shifts/month with some availability on Fridays.
Specific start and end times may vary based on operational needs, but the role is generally expected to be performed within standard daytime business hours. Flexibility in scheduling is required to ensure adequate coverage and support for departmental operations.
Monday‑Friday work schedule.
NO call required.
NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours.
Required Skills
Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license to practice in NV
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must have 2+ years of critical care experience
Experience in Ambulatory Surgical Center is preferred
Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS accredited by AHA
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
