LUK offers a number of
paid
internships for undergraduate and master’s level students studying human services, psychology, or a related field, and who are ready to gain hands‑on learning experience in a supportive environment. Interns are offered comprehensive training opportunities, including, but not limited to weekly one‑hour supervision, agency and program orientation, and agency‑wide trainings, and seminars. Interns earn certifications in: CPR/First Aid/AED, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) crisis intervention, and QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer) and safeTALK suicide prevention. Placement opportunities are available across the agency, including clinical, case management, adventure‑based/experiential learning, prevention/public health, administrative, and support services.
Responsibilities
Gain an understanding and commitment to LUK’s Mission, Vision, and Values and provide congruent services.
Must be able to commit to 450+ hours of service over the course of a semester or year‑long experience.
Participate in the full program session (i.e., semester or year‑long program).
Provide quality services to all consumers.
Attend and participate in required training opportunities.
Attend and participate in weekly supervision as well as staff meetings.
Knowledge & Experience Required
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s level program from a degree‑granting institution majoring in psychology, human services, or a related degree program.
Desire to impact the community with positive change.
Committed to continuous learning.
Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply.
