JOB TITLE: SAFETY ADVISOR
REPORTS TO: PLANT MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
As a Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations in a fast-paced plant setting. Your role is crucial in fostering a safety-conscious culture, preventing accidents, and continuously improving safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to plant plants.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the plant process and implement preventive measures.
Safety Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for plant plant employees, including machine operators and maintenance personnel.
Incident Investigation: Investigate and analyze workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for the plant facility, ensuring all employees are trained and aware of proper procedures.
Safety Audits: Conduct routine safety audits and inspections of the plant plant to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Oversee the proper selection, use, and maintenance of PPE in the plant environment.
Safety Communication: Establish effective communication channels to disseminate safety information, including safety meetings, bulletin boards, and digital communication platforms.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with relevant departments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety procedures and protocols.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training sessions, audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of experience in a safety role within a plant environment.
In-depth knowledge of plant safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Familiarity with plant processes, machinery, and equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, ASP) is a plus.
