Speech-Language Pathologist (Full-Time | 2026–27 School Year | 192-Day Contract)
Are you passionate about helping every student reach their full potential? Heartland AEA is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team for the 2026–27 school year.
Heartland AEA supports 57 public school districts, 44 accredited nonpublic schools, and 2 charter schools across central Iowa. This full-time position working a 192-day contract would be based out of our Newton offices serving Baxter and Colfax-Mingo school districts.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support students’ communication needs.
Conduct speech-language assessments that are relevant to the presenting concern and meaningful within educational and home contexts.
Plan, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions using a variety of service delivery models.
Support the generalization of communication skills across settings through collaboration and consultation.

What We’re Looking For
Licensure:
Appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
Education:
Master’s degree in speech pathology or communications disorders from a recognized training institution or qualified by a Statement of Professional Recognition
Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
