Overview

Attention Medical Assistants looking for PRN work as a Float Pool MA. Our Region B locations in NY are growing and building a team of patient-focused MAs. Role offers PRN travel to multiple region locations and a competitive hourly rate.

Responsibilities
Greet and escort patients from the waiting room to the clinical area; verify patient identification and document intake information as assigned.

Transcribe and update patient information in the EHR, including demographic, medical, social, and history data as reported by the patient.

Perform clerical and secretarial tasks related to patient care; prepare patient charts for providers; assist with paperwork such as disability forms and scanning of pertinent information.

Perform and stay current with the EMR Orders Reconciliation process as assigned.

Maintain a clean examination area, stock supplies, and perform environmental rounds as scheduled.

Prepare patients for scheduled visits, assist with gowns, paperwork, supplies, and educational materials for provider use to support timely patient flow.

Conduct in-office testing as directed by the clinician; coordinate testing and outside services and review instructions for upcoming procedures/tests.

Collect, prepare and process specimens; ensure results are logged in the accession book and reconciled in the patient record.

Contact patients to provide follow-up information, relay test results or clinician instructions as directed.

Maintain inventory and ensure upkeep, cleaning and testing of medical equipment; fill out appropriate logs.

Communicate and document electronic messages effectively.

Assist in training new staff and demonstrate/maintain practice-based competencies for in-office clinical procedures as applicable.

Fulfill compliance responsibilities and model the organization’s values; maintain regular, dependable attendance.

Perform other duties as required within scope of practice.

Qualifications
High School diploma or GED with 1 year Medical Assistant experience, or new graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years of job-related experience in a medical office.

Basic medical knowledge and terminology; data entry skills; ability to obtain accurate patient vital signs.

BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire; ability to travel between practices as needed.

Working Conditions and Other Information
Manual dexterity and finger coordination; moderate physical effort and ability to exert up to 35 lbs as needed.

Medium to heavy physical effort; generally pleasant working conditions.

Salary Range: $24.36 per hour.
