Injection Molding Process Technician in Fountain Inn

This position requires a qualified professional to manage all aspects of the injection molding process, including setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality control to ensure high-quality products are delivered on schedule.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process including setup, tear down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and workflow.

Work with production personnel and quality to ensure molded components meet requirements, adjusting as needed.

Deliver molded components in a timely manner to maintain production schedules.

Collaborate with outside vendors to develop tooling and fixtures that result in the manufacturing of high-quality products.

Manage raw molding materials to ensure traceability and prevent contamination.

Generate documentation on molding runs for tracing and reproducibility.

Work with quality and manufacturing departments during concept, prototyping, and release of new products.

Follow established procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Draft and perform mold validations.

Assure all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed.

Report all quality and scrap issues to appropriate supervisor or manager promptly.

Contact maintenance for equipment issues or non-conformances.

Monitor product quality and process control parameters per operating instructions and control plans, adjusting and documenting as required.

Handle process waste appropriately.

Facilitate communication among technicians regarding process improvements and troubleshooting activities.

Other assignments as requested.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in injection molding.

Good organizational skills.

Proactive with initiative in taking on and completing injection molding projects.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated experience in monitoring a process and adjusting as necessary to maintain specific product quality.

Willingness to work required overtime, weekend work, and early-morning startup shifts.

Ability to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.

Self‑motivated in diagnosing and solving problems to improve efficiency.

Experience with basic safety processes and working safely around automated equipment.

Experience and understanding of automotive quality requirements for interior products is helpful.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to troubleshoot product quality/process issues, interpret data and problem‑solve.

Basic computer skills with general understanding of software programs (Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.).

Six Sigma Green Belt Training or Kepner‑Tregoe Training is a plus.

Education

High School Diploma.
