A Warm, Intentional Role with a Kind, Collaborative Bowery Family – Full-time, Live-out French-Speaking Nanny, 2 Children

Description: French-Speaking Live-Out Nanny Bowery
The Schedule
Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00am-5:00pm - 50 hours guaranteed
Flex for occasional weeknight coverage with advance notice
The Child(ren)
Boy (6 months) - He’s an easygoing, chill infant and a wonderful sleeper.
He has just begun his weaning experience and loves when caregivers narrate the day to him so that he can soak up all language.
Girl (5 yrs) - She’s imaginative, creative, and delightful.
She loves singing and dressing up; OOTD are very important!
She’s a great listener, responds well to direction, and has a calm, easygoing nature.
She’ll be entering Kindergarten in the Fall so the primary care will be of her younger brother
The Family
This is a warm, loving family who truly values partnership with their nanny and considers them an important part of their home.
They prioritize kindness, communication, and mutual respect, and are looking for someone who takes pride in their role. The household is calm, positive, and intentional, with well‑mannered, happy children.
Punctuality and reliability are very important to the family.
The Role
This is a hands‑on, playful nanny role focused on nurturing development and joy.
Responsibilities include full childcare, imaginative play, and finding joy and curiosity in the day‑to‑day.
You will help get the children out and about in the neighborhood, organize playdates with other nannies, and support school transitions.
The daughter will take a bus to school with the bus stop being within walking distance of home;
Mom works full-time but is around to help tag‑team.
The home is a multi‑level walk‑up, so comfort with stairs is important.
The role is focused on finding the joy in the little things. Maybe one day is picking produce from the Farmers Market and helping the daughter wash and chop seasonal fruit for snack.
Another afternoon might be taking containers and tools to the local splash pad for those fabulous warm New York late afternoons.
Mom is American and Dad is French so your ability to help the children appreciate both cultures and languages is welcomed.
Let’s learn the songs in French and narrate the day in both languages. Both children are at the age where they’re little sponges soaking up everything around them so your contribution is crucial.
You
You are a French‑speaking nanny who is loving, joyful, inventive, and genuinely enjoys playing with children.
You are socially confident, enjoy coordinating playdates, and love exploring neighborhoods with children.
You are reliable, punctual, and calm, with a sophisticated, polished presence and a warm heart.
Swimming skills are not required, though comfort supervising in shallow water is helpful but definitely not a dealbreaker.
