
Production Maintenance Tech III 2nd Shift

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Maintenance Manager with delegating duties (i.e. projects, unplanned maintenance) to the Production Maintenance team.
Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production packaging equipment and facility equipment and systems.
Communicate effectively during regularly scheduled and unplanned meetings to appropriately and adequately escalated issues.
Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production runs.
Conduct scheduled maintenance repairs of facility equipment and production equipment.
Carry out mechanical repair, including pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, robotics, and conveyor systems on production equipment and facility equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and electrical blueprints.
Diagnose issues, repair and replace parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
Follow preventive maintenance schedule to keep facility equipment and production equipment at peak performance.
Perform a variety of fabrication duties when necessary.
Troubleshoot and diagnose programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Detect faulty parts or equipment before failure, when possible.
Enter work orders accurately in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Operate computer, keyboard, mouse, tablet, HMI, and cameras effectively.
Communicate professionally with members of staff at all levels.
Maintain a team‑player attitude by sharing knowledge across job titles.
Provide some training duties to production line workers and maintenance team members.
Participate actively in company safety meetings and act as a proponent of employee safety.
Follow all GMPs and other company quality and food safety programs as they relate to the maintenance department.
All other duties as assigned.
Competencies
Generalist knowledge of fabrication, mechanical, electrical, and technical disciplines.
Proficiency with CMMS and inventory systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Leadership ability and a results‑driven mindset.
Strong initiative and self‑starter attitude.
Position Type
This is a full‑time position. Hours of work are Monday‑through‑Friday; as needed for preventive maintenance, subject to business needs, Saturdays may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel, if any.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. and at least 4 years’ (or equivalent) experience in an industrial maintenance role with food manufacturing and packaging experience (form‑fill‑seal) preferred and highly desired.
Must have leadership experience.
Must have at least 3 years’ mechanical experience (or equivalent) in an industrial maintenance role.
Must have at least 2 years’ electrical or technical experience (or equivalent) in an industrial maintenance role.

Approximately 90% of work is performed in a refrigerated or sub‑zero environment. The employee must talk and hear; the position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, feeling, fingering, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses. This position works with a variety of vibrating tools.
