Float X-Ray Technologist – Per Diem
Travel Requirement
This position supports both the Barnegat and Manahawkin Urgent Care locations, traveling between sites throughout the shift as needed. A valid driver's license is required, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
Job Overview
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic x‑ray testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The role may also provide clinical and administrative assistance such as front desk registration.
The Technologist operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. They manage the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards, maintain supplies, and report equipment problems.
The Technologist also accurately completes patient interviews, collects appropriate specimens, assists the physician with patient exams, maintains departmental inventory, and provides quality direct patient care and non‑professional services as directed by the Registered Nurse. The position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school.
Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
Valid driver’s license.
Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
BLS for Healthcare Providers.
1 year diagnostic testing experience preferred.
Ability to concentrate on fine detail in a hectic environment, handle multiple tasks.
Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; training within 30‑60 days expected.
Work Environment
Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, blood‑borne pathogens, infectious disease, injury, hazardous substances, and electromagnetic radiation. The position requires standing majority of the time, extensive pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the leadership within Ambulatory.
