Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and highly organized
Medical Receptionist
to be the "heartbeat" of our physical therapy clinic. As the first point of contact, you will set the tone for the patient’s recovery journey by providing a warm, professional, and efficient experience. You will manage the front desk of the clinic, ensuring our therapists’ schedules stay optimized and our patients feel supported from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience:
Greet patients warmly, manage the check-in/check-out process, and maintain a professional, tidy lobby area.
Scheduling:
Coordinate, confirm, and reschedule patient evaluations and follow-up appointments via phone, text, or email.
Insurance Coordination:
Verify insurance eligibility, obtain necessary authorizations, and communicate coverage details to patients.
Financial Oversight:
Collect co-pays and past‑due balances, and accurately balance daily collections.
Records Management:
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and handle medical record requests while ensuring strictHIPAA compliance.
Orders Management:
Send/Receive and track down physician orders for Outpatient and Home Health based clients.
Administrative Support:
Manage multi-line phone systems, handle incoming/outgoing faxes, and monitor office supply inventory.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
Experience:
Though not a requirement, experience in physical therapy or orthopedics is a significant plus.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic communications and Microsoft Office.
Interpersonal Skills:
Exceptional communication, empathy for patients in pain, and the ability to remain calm in a fast‑paced environment.
Organization:
Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with high attention to detail.
