Part-time Weekend Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Covington Post Acute, located in Covington, Tennessee, is a Medicare and Medicaid‑certified skilled nursing facility caring for up to 98 residents in private and semi‑private suites. The facility emphasizes a comfortable and engaging environment with indoor and outdoor common spaces, personalized dietary plans, and a variety of social activities.
The Respiratory Therapist evaluates, treats, and cares for patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders, practicing under the direction of the Respiratory Department Head. The RT assumes primary responsibility for all respiratory care therapeutic treatments and diagnostic procedures, including supervision of respiratory therapy technicians.
Responsibilities

Assess patients and recommend appropriate respiratory therapy treatments
Administer doctor-recommended respiratory therapy treatments
Plan, prepare, and administer treatments such as IPPB, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions
Perform diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests
Inspect, test, maintain, and operate respiratory therapy equipment
Respond to "code blue" emergencies, maintain airways, and perform CPR
Instruct and supervise respiratory technicians
Ensure patient care documentation is timely, legible, concise, and meets departmental standards
Use resources and materials efficiently and safely
Perform all duties promptly with competence and care
Maintain a neat appearance and adhere to facility dress code policies
While on assignment, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible and accountable to their assigned patients and to the client institution. The Respiratory Therapist is under the direct supervision of the Department Head or other assigned personnel and must be able to follow directions and instructions from their supervisor.
Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
Minimum of 6 months of experience
Preferably with experience in a skilled nursing facility setting
Current license as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) as required by the state of Tennessee
National Provider BLS or CPR from the American Heart Association upon hire
