Job Summary
Our GDI Ainsworth Mechanicsburg, PA office is looking to add an experienced HVAC Installer who will be responsible for overseeing daily installation activities on commercial/industrial projects and jobsite safety. The Installer will also provide hands‑on training, guidance, and mentorship to junior installers and apprentices, helping to build a skilled and reliable field team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead installation crews and oversee daily HVAC installation activities
Install and supervise installation of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment including rooftops, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and exhaust systems
Read, interpret, and explain blueprints, layouts, and job specifications
Plan work sequences, crew assignments, and material needs
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
Ensure installations meet company standards, code requirements, and project schedules
Oversee rigging, equipment setting, piping, ductwork, and insulation installation
Assist with system testing, start-ups, and commissioning support
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Maintain jobsite organization, material tracking, and daily reporting
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to installers and apprentices
Qualifications
5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC installation experience
Proven experience leading crews or acting as a lead installer
EPA Section 608 Certification
Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
Solid understanding of HVAC codes, tools, and installation practices
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
Able to lift up to 75 lbs
Able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in indoor/outdoor conditions
Able to stand, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
