Job Description
Position Objective
This position will be under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, ensuring correct operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules of the office, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. It requires a highly skilled technician to install, maintain, and repair plant production machinery such as plastic resin handling systems, co‑extrusion cast film lines, pallet wrapping, thermoforming machines, and paper bag converting equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state‑certified technical school or community college required. A 4‑year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical components – relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.
Must be able to read multimeters and ammeters
Background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting required
Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives preferred
Basic computer knowledge
Good communication skills
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as needed
Availability for on‑call work as required
Ability to read electrical schematics
Knowledge of blueprints and mechanical drawings a plus
Can work with limited supervision (e.g., night shift)
Consistent, dependable attendance and willingness to accommodate non‑standard hours
Ability to manage job‑related stress and foster productive workplace interactions
Job Responsibilities
All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician B
Troubleshoot and repair A/C, D/C motors, drives, and inverters
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
Troubleshoot and repair fire panels and alarm systems
Identify and work on any electrical cabinet in the plant
Identify and safely work on any switchgear in the plant
Replace non‑programmable devices such as relays, contactors, timers, and PLC i/o cards
Use soldering for repairs as needed
Check and change motor rotation if necessary
Replace plant lighting and ballasts
Check and replace fuses
Troubleshoot electrical circuits
Assist maintenance technician in lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
Maintain all equipment in good running order
Ensure job site is clean and free of hazards
Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices while operating equipment
Communicate with production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
Maintain professional certifications and keep training up to date with procedures and policy changes
Operate all maintenance equipment safely, following LOTO procedures at all times
Work Environment Conditions Subjected to in This Position
Manufacturing environment
Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
