Probationary Security Officer
Amentum is seeking a Probationary Security Officer to support our Range and Aerial Operations in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role provides static perimeter security and roving security patrols for the security project, and actively supports and upholds our vision, mission, and values. The position is represented by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Compensation
$22.87 - $26.80 per hour. The compensation range is an estimate and may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and applicable agreements.

Essential Responsibilities
Perform the day-to-day protective security functions as specified in daily post and detail orders.
Carry and operate weapons as specified in daily orders or upon orders from the detail leader or shift leader.
Guard security site against damage, fire, theft, trespassing, illegal entry, exit, and unlawful attacks.
Patrol premises to ensure the site is properly secured.
Verify and identify employees and other persons entering the site.
Inspect and properly store equipment.
Develop incident reports of attacks, damage, theft, or unusual occurrences; investigate disturbances and maintain order and safety during emergencies.
Understand, acknowledge, and follow the chain of command.
Identify personal and work-related problems of guards under command early to avoid operational impact.
Act in accordance with the company ethics program.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Probationary service time is 1-180 days.
Minimum age 21.
Ability to communicate company practices clearly with executives, clients, and employees.
Compliance with AFI 31-117, Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel.
Valid driver’s license.
Fluent speaking and writing English.
Qualified with contract-required weapons systems.
Pass detailed medical evaluation.
Pass detailed background investigation at required frequency.
Obtain and maintain a Top Secret with counterintelligence polygraph US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous security experience.
Prior experience in law enforcement, corrections, or military background.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
Must meet physical requirements dictated by project; work outdoors in harsh conditions and extreme temperatures; available to work outside normal schedule if needed; lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; perform climbing, crawling, crouching, bending, standing for long periods, reaching above shoulder level, extending arms at awkward angles; alert for shifts of at least eight hours.
