Role Overview
Three‑year fixed‑term role delivering collaborative oenology research, contributing to teaching, and building strong academic, industry, and community connections.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early‑career researcher to develop their academic profile while contributing to teaching and service activity. You’ll work closely with academic colleagues on relevant oenology research, publish high‑quality outputs, and support undergraduate and postgraduate learning.
Responsibilities
Conducting collaborative research in agreed wine science areas
Publishing research in reputable national and international journals
Contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities
Participating in research teams across disciplines and institutions
Engaging with industry, professional bodies, and the wider community
Supporting equity, Treaty of Waitangi commitments, and a positive academic culture
Qualifications
A PhD in Wine Science or a closely related discipline
Strong knowledge of wine production processes and wine chemistry
Experience with advanced chemical and instrumental analysis techniques
Sound capability in statistical analysis and experimental design
A developing track record of quality research and publication
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse groups
