We are seeking an innovative Senior Data Engineer to join our Startup AI and Data Analytics Business Unit. This role is a critical bridge, connecting technical engineering with business strategy. Beyond just managing tickets or building pipelines, you will take full ownership of the data ecosystem, supporting our AI/ML initiatives and ensuring data accessibility, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities
Ecosystem Ownership & Strategy
– Own the Data Ecosystem: Build and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes, taking full responsibility for the health, cost, and observability of the stack.
Business‑First Data Modeling
– Design and manage data warehouses to support advanced analytics, focusing on creating "Gold Standard" data models for self‑service on PowerBI, Tableau, Sigma.
Documentation & Governance
– Maintain comprehensive documentation of all data engineering processes to enable stakeholder self‑service.
Engineering & Execution
– Infrastructure Development: Design and manage data lakes, warehouses, and databases to support analytics and AI workflows.
Performance Tuning
– Act as a SQL/Python expert to optimize data pipelines and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Data Quality Management
– Implement frameworks that ensure data reliability across the organization.
Candidate Profile
Product‑Minded Engineer
– Wants to own the full lifecycle, not just tickets.
Analytics Architect
– Background in BI or analytics, becomes Ninja‑level technical expert.
Startup Builder
– Experienced in small teams, drives solutions, wears multiple hats.
Analytics Translation & Collaboration
Bridge the Gap
– Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate vague business goals into precise technical requirements.
Support AI/ML
– Create models that enhance Analytics and AI/ML projects.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data engineering, owning pipelines and optimizing infrastructure.
Technical Ninja Skills
– Proficiency in SQL (CTE optimization) and Python (complex scripting, ML/AI).
Pipeline Architecture
– Expertise using Fivetran, Snowflake, DBT.
Business Intuition
– Apply business intuition to present insights and recommendations.
Visualization Proficiency
– Build business‑driven solutions in PowerBI, Sigma, etc.
Master’s degree in engineering or analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud & Big Data
– Familiarity with AWS and big data technologies like Snowflake.
Leadership
– Proven experience leading data engineering projects.
Experience in small teams, agile environments.
$130,000 - $175,000 a year
