Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Unit Coordinator/ Infant Feeding Technician to support our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is responsible for the safe preparation, handling, storage, and delivery of infant feedings, including human milk, complex formulas, and ready-to-feed formulas. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and care for our most vulnerable patients.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver infant feedings according to physician orders and departmental policies
Calculate and prepare standard and specialized feeding recipes accurately
Safely store, label, and handle human milk in compliance with departmental and regulatory guidelines
Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of the infant feeding/formula preparation room
Operate and monitor feeding preparation equipment, including documenting refrigerator and freezer temperatures
Maintain adequate inventory of ingredients and supplies used for infant feedings
Communicate effectively with the medical team, nursing staff, and unit dietitian to ensure feeding orders are correct
Report product, supply, or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner
Participate in staff training related to infant feeding preparation, human milk handling, and new products or procedures
Assist with performance improvement initiatives within the infant feeding room
Perform unit coordinator duties as assigned
Support unit operations by assisting with stocking, cleaning, laundry, unit clerk coverage, and other non-direct patient care tasks as needed
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Healthcare, nutrition, food service, or NICU experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control standards
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a respectful and compassionate approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly regulated clinical environment
