
Summer Internship - Finance Undergrad

Mission – Why we exist and why we need you
Geothermal energy is the most abundant renewable energy source in the world. However, historically it’s been hard to find and expensive to develop. At Zanskar, we’re using better technology to find and develop new geothermal resources in order to make geothermal a cost-effective and vital contributor to a carbon‑free energy future. We are revolutionizing the exploration process, setting new industry standards for discovery rates and finding new prospects at an unprecedented scale.
The Summer Internship program will give applicants broad exposure to geothermal development and the strategic decisions that lead to economically viable projects. We expect interns to interface with many teams at Zanskar, under the direction of the finance & development managers, and to work on real & high‑impact deliverables for the Company.
Outcomes – Problems you’ll solve
In this position, your primary responsibility will be to conduct research, assist with financial modeling, and prepare documents and presentations for both external stakeholders and internal decision makers. You will work directly with the Finance team to advance investment decisions regarding individual geothermal projects across the portfolio. Throughout the internship you will gain an understanding of the geothermal industry as well as the structuring, modeling, and execution of project finance transactions. You will work closely with cross‑functional experts in various groups such as land acquisition, development, exploration, and R&D.

Reliability : Ability to deliver impressive results in a cross‑functional, high‑growth, and fast‑paced environment
Flexibility : Can perform analysis on a variety of projects with different transaction deadlines and shifting priorities. Feels comfortable structuring and resolving ambiguity in order to come up with an actionable answer.
Cross‑functional communicator : Able to translate various internal and external teams’ input into analysis as well as communicate the impact of those with stakeholders.
Location, Salary, and Benefits
The position is based out of our headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We have a hybrid schedule, with Mon‑Wed required in‑office.
Base Salary: $5,000 monthly stipend.
Expected 30‑40 hour commitment per week.
Paid holidays.
