Billing Clerk (Lead Billing Clerk) – Springville, NY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Billing Clerk to join our Patient Accounting team. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in examining and billing accounts receivable primary and secondary claims, reviewing mail correspondence, denials, and handling phone calls from insurance companies and patients.
Responsibilities
Examine and bill all accounts receivable primary and secondary claims
Review mail correspondence, denials, and handle phone calls from insurance companies and patients
Assist in analysis of open claims — verification of timely submission and claim resolution as needed
Timely filing of issues/denials to prevent lost revenue
Assist in maintaining A/R over 120 and review all accounts receivable claims
Transmit all electronic claims and prepare trial balance reports
Process denials and insurance explanation of benefits
Requirements
3 years of medical billing experience, with experience in professional and institutional claims, spanning all types of carriers, including Government, Medicare, Workers Compensation/NoFault, and commercial carriers
Experience with eClinicalWorks, ClaimMaster, and/or HMS a plus
High School Diploma or GED; Medical Billing certificate a plus
Must be willing to work 100% on-site
What we offer
$19.59 - $21.56/hr, based on previous experience, with a sign‑on bonus of $500
