
Senior Loan Accountant

The Senior Loan Accountant will be responsible for accurate loan financial transactions, managing onboarding, processing, and reconciliations, overseeing invoicing and receivables, supporting reporting and budgeting, and acting as a loan accounting expert in a high-volume setting. They will join a team building closing processes, and integrating with other departments. This role offers growth and real estate exposure in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Record and track transactions in Loan Vision (accounting system) and maintains data integrity of system records, including posting of transactions, onboarding of new loans and collateral, processing modifications and amendments, and data information maintenance
Perform daily reconciliations that include cash and journal entries, transactions, and accounts receivables and ensure they are correctly accounted for in the system
Oversee invoicing, collections, and payments of loan-related receivables
Maintain accurate general ledgers and support monthly financial reporting
Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and process improvements
Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
Provides expertise to others by thorough understanding of business requirements surrounding loan-related transactions
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
Perform bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
Perform other ad-hoc assignments as requested.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Good understanding of accounting principles
Ability to multitask while setting priorities
reQUIREMENTS
4+ years of professional accounting experience, including at least 2 in mortgage or another financial services-related industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience
Familiarity with loan accounting systems
Advanced experience with complex Excel formulas and tools
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other related GL accounting software
Availability to support Pacific Time Zone operations is preferred
