Responsibilities
You’ll prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
You’ll assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating position.
You’ll provide support in price negotiations.
You’ll prepare claim analysis and estimates.
You’ll prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches.
You’ll assist in reviewing contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability.
You’ll conduct research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services.
Onsite at client site:
The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, engineering or construction management.
Two (2) years full‑time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or school construction.
Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences.
Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal.
Compensation: $127,000 – $139,000 a year.
