
Assistant Fiscal Technician - Casual Part-time - Treasurer's Office

This is a casual part-time position at $15.00 per hour, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, approximately 2 days per week, as needed.
Responsibilities
Assists Treasurer in administering duties of the department; monitors all County bank accounts via online access for accuracy; maintains manual ledgers of all bank accounts to ensure accuracy of financial systems postings; prepares, deposits, and receipts all monies paid to the County via cash, live check or ACH, including preparation of daily posting report for the Controller; processes remote deposits ensuring all images are scanned properly and accurately, including following bank requirements to destroy originals in the proper timeframe and manner; maintains and balances department cash draw and assists in reconciling bank statements for various accounts; writes and issues checks and check requests for savings and special accounts only obtaining proper paperwork and required signatures per County policy; interacts daily with general public, internal departments, and external government agencies; provides information and support to external and internal auditors as requested; processes licenses (dog, fishing, and game), small games of chance and bingo, as requested and according to applicable laws. Answers phone and assists customers. Backup processor of tax collector reporting and record keeping.
Education/Training
Associate’s Degree from accredited college or university in accounting, business administration and computer training. Strong computer skills required.
Work Experience
1 - 2 years of experience in financial position involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including accounting or fiscal principles or practices, or any acceptable combination of experience and training. Government experience preferred.
