Job Summary

Responsibilities
Perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including operating heavy equipment and power tools for maintenance duties such as snow and ice control and removal.
Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails.
Keep roadways clear of hazards, litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
Perform building and ground maintenance duties, and routine maintenance of roadway and radio system equipment.
Perform minor preventative and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain necessary paperwork: time records, activity reports, daily diary, road reports, and related documentation.
Receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.
Qualifications
Valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work, with two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT (Equipment Operator II).
Valid North Dakota Class B driver license without air brake restrictions (Equipment Operator I).
Valid North Dakota Class A driver permit without air brake restrictions and cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work, with 12 months to obtain a full Class A license and endorsement (Equipment Operator in Training).
Ability to report to work within 30 minutes during emergencies, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
Successful completion of interview process, drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check, and federal clearinghouse query screening.
