GENERAL FUNCTION
The Quality Auditor I is responsible for production/finished product inspection and quality control for all surfaced & cut‑edge prescription work.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform and demonstrate excellent skills in reading a Lensometer and interpreting results.
Interpret customers' Rx requirements and understand the production work ticket as produced via lab software.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of all surface and finish activities and production tasks and ensure a "First‑Quality" Rx with regard to product cosmetics and alignment.
Understand special or unique requirements of specific laboratory customers regarding the product to be delivered.
Serve as "quality advisor" to production supervisors, lab management, and as required by the Regional Operations Manager.
Effectively troubleshoot all facets of production problems within area of responsibility to bring about acceptable production quality and service levels.
Assure compliance with Network Operations Uniform Processing System procedures, including calibration, Rx cosmetics, form/fit of product, etc.
Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
Follow all company and manufacturer policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety rules, and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Assist colleagues as necessary to meet deadlines and maintain workflow; cooperate with supervisors and other employees with a positive attitude.
Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees; attend in‑house or sponsored training when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals, necessitating safety training.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
3 years of production experience.
Knowledge of ANSI standards applicable to eyewear.
Near vision capability to 20/40 max with or without corrective prescription eyewear.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
