POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for obtaining and verifying patient insurance benefits and authorizations, and data collection and analysis with regard to client accounts. Works with Eatontown billing staff to resolve billing issues, and under the supervision of the Patient Accounts Supervisor to implement these functions for the Agency and its affiliates.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years' experience in billing/Accounts Receivable

High School Diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Three (3) years or above experience in billing and one year supervisory.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Position requires sitting and performing repetitive movement while using the computer during a portion of the day.

Computer literate. Proficiency with MS Office.

Daily location assignment contingent upon client benefit and authorization needs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance benefits.

Responsible for PE, NJMHAPP and subsidy applications and follow up authorizations.

Responsible for obtaining financial information for subsidized clients.

Responsible for ISC and EMVES eligibility checks.

Responsible for reviewing 270/271 report and resolving client benefit discrepancies.

Works with Eatontown billing staff to resolve billing issues.

Attends meetings as a representative of the billing staff and attends training sessions and seminars as required by the Patient Accounts Supervisor.

Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of client-related information.

Works cooperatively with other staff and supervisors.

Seeks and uses supervision in a professional manner.

Attends scheduled staff meetings.

Provides additional related services assigned by the Patient Accounts Supervisor.

Abides by Agency policies and procedures.

Informs Supervisor of relevant issues and information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment is required. Employees must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate information pertaining to this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
