Summary
arc Thrift Stores is a rapidly growing Colorado retail store chain with an immediate opening on the Facilities Projects Team. Our technicians must be able to travel out of state with a company provided vehicle and must have a valid driver's license with clean MVR, clean background and ability to pass random drug screenings. The ideal candidate should have two years’ experience in one or more trades, be competent yet willing to learn, and be able to take initiative completing work in a professional, efficient, and timely manner. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with Store Managers, Employees and Customers, maintain a positive attitude under all conditions, and be open to miscellaneous duties assigned by the Facilities Project Manager. Travel will be to perform new store set‑up and a wide range of services including the non‑technical aspects of plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC maintenance at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as welding, light equipment operation, carpentry and/or painting. The Project Teams will also take part in the repair, replacement, and renovation of capital projects in stores, donation stations and warehouses along the Front Range. When not on a specific project, working together with our Facilities Maintenance Department, technicians complete day‑to‑day maintenance and work requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains and performs repairs on building electrical, and HVAC systems & controls

Monitors and performs maintenance of plumbing systems, to include repair of leaking fixtures and cleaning obstructed waste lines

Performs tasks which may include drywall repair, door and hardware installation, and paint touch ups as needed

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

Documents and maintains appropriate records of work and expenditures

Provides personal tools to work independently

Monitors and/or maintains quality control standards

Proper use of hand and power tools applicable to trade

Reads, understands, follows, and enforces safety procedures

Education and/or Experience Required

High school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

Experience with welding and fabrication preferred

Ability to work as part of a diverse team as well as with individuals possessing developmental disabilities

Ability to use good judgment

Energy to take on fast‑paced work

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good listener

Well‑organized and self‑directed

Physical Demands

Work may involve exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Proper PPE will be supplied and is non‑negotiable.

Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, climbing ladders, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
