Patient Service Representative - Radiology - Rancho Bernardo

Job Title
Patient Service Representative, Radiology Department – Scripps Clinic, Rancho Bernardo.
Responsibilities
Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration, assigning Medical Record Numbers, appointment scheduling, point-of-service payment collection, document collection, and check-out functions.
Responding to customer billing and payment inquiries.
Effectively managing the check-in/check-out process, including identification verification; confirming demographic and insurance information; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed, and witnessed at the time of the patient visit and accurately preparing end-of-day reporting or payment reconciliation.
Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance information.
Initiating and validating referrals and authorizations.
Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions, and knowing when to involve leadership to resolve concerns.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with computer applications, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to handle money.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with the ability to identify and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of experience in customer service or a healthcare/medical office environment.
Ability to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and governmental health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG, ICD9/ICD10 codes, CPT/HCPC codes, and modifiers.
Compensation and Benefits
