Equipment Maintenance Technician 2 – GAC Van Nuys
Are you a hands‑on technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills? Join our team and help keep critical aircraft production equipment running at peak performance.

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician who can diagnose, repair, and maintain complex systems that support aircraft manufacturing. Experience maintaining or repairing aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair

electrical and mechanical malfunctions on production equipment.

Perform

preventive and predictive maintenance

to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.

Conduct

corrective maintenance and upgrades

on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Deliver high‑quality repairs that keep equipment operating within required specifications.

Partner with operations to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment performance.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or GED required.

3 years of experience

working with electrical controls and mechanical applications in a manufacturing environment.

A 2 year technical degree may offset one year of experience.

Strong troubleshooting skills across

electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems .

Ability to work independently under general supervision.

Experience with

aircraft ground support equipment

is a

strong plus .

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years experience working with electrical controls and mechanical applications in a manufacturing environment. 2‑year technical degree may offset one year of experience.

Position Purpose:

Under general supervision provides expertise with respect to electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems for troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance to all aircraft related production equipment.

Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

Diagnoses cause of electrical and mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and applies corrective action to resolve re‑occurring issues.

Proactively conducts preventive and predictive maintenance inspections and performs required duties in accordance with recommended schedules.

Performs repairs and corrective maintenance to equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability so that the equipment is capable of operating within required specifications.

Performs setup and calibrations on scheduled intervals for all aircraft related production equipment.

Daily input of required data in CMMS system for machine reliability and control.

Additional Functions:

Interfaces daily with key management and production personnel regarding all aircraft related production equipment.

Assists with engineering acceptance testing and training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

Ability to work any shift.

Background in CNC equipment and GSE equipment a plus.

Must be able to read electrical schematics and blue prints.

Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines as needed.

Must have demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls aspects of factory automation systems and the integration of devices used.

Working knowledge of replacing spindles, ball screws, linear guide ways, bearings, hydraulics repairs, and precision machine/laser alignments is a plus.

A working knowledge of PC based Microsoft office. Experience with computerized maintenance management software relevant to spare parts management, work order creation, and preventive maintenance preferred.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this role is $35.88 - $39.66 hourly.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.
