The Survey Technician III is an advanced-level position within our surveying team, responsible for performing advanced surveying tasks, and ensuring the accurate and precise execution of survey projects. This role involves a high level of expertise in surveying software (Civil 3D), data analysis, and project coordination. This role involves increased responsibility and serves as an important link between entry-level technicians and more senior survey staff.
Responsibilities
Data Management and Analysis
Lead the transfer, organization, processing, and analysis of field data, working collaboratively with the survey team to maintain the highest data integrity
Coordinate with the project team on the development and review of the field package, field procedures, and general project lifecycle
Utilize advanced software and tools for data processing and analysis
Work closely with Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to learn how to analyze final boundary decisions
Team Leadership and Mentoring
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced technicians
Assist Survey Technicians I & II in task assignments, work scheduling, and project coordination
Client Interaction
Communicate with clients and project managers, ensuring that project requirements are met, issues are addressed, and project progress is reported accurately
Qualifications
An educational background in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field is preferred
A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in progressively responsible surveying roles
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting, data processing, and reviewing final surveying deliverables
Proficiency in the use of advanced surveying instruments and software
In-depth knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and procedures
Problem solving and organizational skills are necessary
Strong communication and leadership abilities
