Job Description
We are looking for candidates who want to build more than machines. This is a terrific opportunity to join the Caterpillar North Little Rock, AR team as an Assembler on our 2nd shift team earning day ONE benefits and a starting wage of $19.35/hour. This position works under general supervision to assemble/test parts, components, or systems for wheel loaders and motor graders according to the specified work orders. It is located on the assembly line at the North Little Rock, AR site.
Pay Rate and Schedule
The position includes a wage of $19.35/hour and a comprehensive benefit program.
Openings available on the 2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11pm. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization.
Must be available for orientation and training for 2 weeks Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm.
In this role, you will:
Work as a team, following work instructions to build our Caterpillar machines.
Collaborate with support teams to make continuous improvements to our assembly process.
Utilize assembly tools and lifting devices to make the work easier and safer.
Own the work you do, actively seeking to learn and improve to ensure the highest level of adherence to safety and quality.
What you will have:
Previous work or volunteer experience (assembly experience not required; we provide classroom and on‑the‑job training).
Willingness and ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Willingness and ability to adapt to various operations.
Willingness and ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Physical Job Requirements – Production
Constantly stand on concrete floors while retrieving parts/tools and completing tasks at assigned workstation.
Walk on concrete floors to retrieve parts/tools from distances of a few feet to approximately 80 feet.
Sit on a scooter or creeper on an occasional basis to position body under the machine or at the bottom of the part or machine.
Kneel on an occasional basis to position body under the part or machine.
Squat frequently to lift material/tools from a cart to the point of operation; may remain in a static squatted position for a few minutes occasionally.
Climb up and down stairs, platforms, and ladders on an occasional basis up to a height of 15 feet.
Rotate and bend at the waist while reaching into storage bins and positioning body in front of the machine/part on an occasional basis.
Reach with hands/arms in any direction from approximately 3 inches off the floor to overhead on a frequent basis; may hold a static position with sustained reaching to the waist to head range while pushing or pulling up to 70 lbs.
Frequently lift, up to 10-15 lbs. throughout the shift; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.; on a rare basis lift up to 35 lbs.; may hold a static position with sustained reaching to a head range while holding 10-15 lbs.
Frequently operate heavy equipment or machinery.
Frequently bend the neck forward; occasionally twist or tilt the neck.
Handle, seize, hold, grasp, turning, or otherwise work with the hand or hands, with a light to moderate grip; occasionally a forceful grip may be needed to assemble parts into the correct position.
Occasional exposure to vibration tools.
Occasionally use fingers to operate computer and frequently use fingers to operate hoist controls.
