
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I

Location of Position: MDH, Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, MD
Main Purpose of Job
The Office Administrator provides operational and administrative support to the Clinical Director/Chairman, Department of Medicine & Psychiatry, and the Medical Staff. Functions include performing and coordinating executive secretarial duties in accordance with hospital policies, state regulations, and requirements of external agencies such as The Joint Commission, CMS, ACGME, and MedChi. This position is an Emergency Essential Employee and reports to the Clinical Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
One year of administrative staff or professional work experience.
Optionally, 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
Optionally, U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, or operational programs can substitute for experience.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Smartsheets.
Experience interpreting and applying regulations and standards from CMS, The Joint Commission, Office of Healthcare Quality Assurance, and Maryland Code.
Experience with credentialing and continuing medical education programs.
Experience with administrative and clerical duties in a healthcare setting.
Experience delivering excellent customer service.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle and must possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license.
