Registration Coordinator

The role of the Registration Coordinator is an essential part of the patient‑facing registration experience by providing support and ensuring each patient encounter is positive, professional, and efficient. The primary function of this role is to create new registrations and check patients in for scheduled and walk‑in clinical visits throughout the outpatient setting of the hospital. Support may be needed for Urgent Care, Radiology, and Access Clinic check‑ins, operating seven days per week, during both day and evening times. Registration Coordinator duties also include scheduling patient return visit appointments, minimizing clinic access delays, effectively communicating with patients and families, informing of and collecting signed consent for care, maintaining standards for infection prevention, and establishing systems and resources to improve processes and efficiency of the patient experience.
Responsibilities

Create new registrations and check patients in for scheduled and walk‑in clinical visits throughout the outpatient setting.
Support registration needs for Urgent Care, Radiology, and Access Clinic check‑ins, operating seven days per week, during both day and evening times.
Schedule patient return visit appointments.
Minimize clinic access delays.
Effectively communicate with patients and families.
Inform and collect signed consent for care.
Maintain infection prevention standards.
Establish systems and resources to improve processes and patient experience.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year customer service and/or administrative support experience.
Preferred Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of three years experience working in a health care setting or related field. Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment. Familiarity with other cultures and bilingual skills.
Compensation

Compensation Range: $23.15 – $34.73 per hour. This range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
