Purpose Statement
The job of Warehouse/Delivery Worker (JC681) is to perform a variety of duties involved in picking up and delivering mail, supplies, equipment, food, surplus, and other materials, as assigned and within strict timeline and safety protocols, to and from various district sites; and loading, unloading, stacking, and rotating supplies, equipment, food, and other materials.

This job reports to Director‑Nutritional/Warehouse Services.

Essential Functions

Assist with physical inventories (e.g., quarterly and annual) to verify stock and identify losses.

Assist with scheduling the delivery of materials, under strict timelines and safety protocols, to and from various district sites (e.g., inter‑school mail, supplies, equipment, food, meals, etc.) and drive vehicles to transport orders and confidential materials to designated sites.

Load and unload orders on and off vehicles (e.g., inter‑school mail, supplies, equipment, food, surplus, etc.) to receive stock and/or fill orders for transport.

Maintain warehouse area in a clean and orderly condition (shelves, storage spaces, floors, etc.) to provide a safe, sanitary, and orderly work environment.

Maintain vehicles (check condition of delivery vehicle each morning, make minor adjustments when necessary, report major repairs, clean and sanitize interior and exterior of vehicles, maintain fluid levels including gasoline) to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and vehicle longevity.

Maintain strict confidentiality on personnel and student issues (records, medical records, surveillance videos and images, student data, confidential communication, etc.) to protect personal information.

Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, hot boxes, refrigeration units, standard office equipment) to handle large and heavy items and other equipment safely and efficiently.

Organize equipment and supplies to maintain required inventory levels.

Perform general clerical duties (typing invoices, etc.) to support warehouse operations.

Prepare orders by pulling from stock to meet delivery requirements.

Provide quality customer service to maintain an effective and efficient work environment.

Research discrepancies on meal deliveries (overages, shortages, duplications, etc.) to ensure accurate delivery of requested items to serving sites.

Respond to inquiries of staff and vendors to provide information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries.

Transport various equipment and materials (packaged and perishable food, hot and cold meals, supplies, food carts, etc.) under strict timelines and safety protocols to deliver requested items to serving sites.

Verify incoming stock and other materials to ensure specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct.

Other Functions

Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Education
High school graduation or GED.
