Salary Range: $38.57 - $53.48 /hour

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The senior sleep technologist performs and evaluates routine and specialized overnight polysomnograms (PSGs), Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs). Duties include calibrating equipment, attaching sensors, performing bio‑calibration, monitoring laboratory equipment, observing patients while they sleep, initiating Bi/CPAP titration or other treatments when needed, scoring polysomnographic recordings, and performing infant, pediatric, and daytime studies as requested. Technologists may work across all UCLA Sleep Lab locations and support laboratory operations as needed.

Work may involve varying levels of effort in scoring records, performing daytime studies, and other functions, depending on patient volume and Center needs.

The technologist reports to the Lab Manager and Supervisor and may receive instructions from the Medical Director, staff physicians, or other personnel, following laboratory protocols for emergency and non‑emergency reporting.

Technologists work independently within their scope and as a team member to ensure smooth operation of the Sleep Disorders Center.

Job Qualifications

Polysomnography experience

Ability to score 30‑second epochs

Basic computer skills

CPR certification

RPSGT certification

Other required licensures/registrations as mandated by state or accrediting agencies

Experience in sleep recording instrumentation and scoring techniques

Comfort working with clinical research populations

Prior phlebotomy experience and certification preferred

Flexible work hours, including nights and/or days as scheduling requires
