
Network Engineer

Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, supporting and enhancing all enterprise networking and telephony systems. Assists IT leadership in meeting Service Level Agreements and implementing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support
Provide primary support for mission critical systems and services, including:
Cisco switching equipment (ASA, FTD, switches, routers)
LAN/WAN including Cisco wireless (Meraki)
Cisco Nexus equipment
Cisco VPN
Network Design
Design, plan, and implement network equipment refresh and upgrades
Conduct network architecture design and make recommendations based on cost and feasibility
Maintain currency with emerging technologies and recommend strategic communications initiatives
Maintenance
Troubleshoot network issues involving various factors
Perform perimeter monitoring, verify integrity and availability of all network systems
Create and maintain documentation of all configuration information
Assure configurations are backed up and that restores are working properly
Perform patch maintenance during time windows as required to maintain system uptime to users
Secure network by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
Complete change implementations work off-hours
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Managing Information Systems or related field of study
Minimum of 3 years of Cisco networking or Cisco Nexus work experience in a medium or large enterprise
Minimum 1 year experience of cloud networking systems (AWS, Azure, or similar)
General systems administration experience, AD, DHCP, DNS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work on projects under general supervision
Preferred skills
Exposure to Microsoft Azure or similar networking concepts including virtual networks, network security groups, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall.
Ability to perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of Azure networking resources and Azure tools and services
Azure Network Engineer Associate Certification or similar
Cisco CCNA/CCDA
