Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the building Administrator and the Head Custodian, the Night Custodian will be responsible for daily custodial operations; maintaining a sanitary and safe facility for students, employees and the general public; minimizing the risk of property damage, loss and liability exposure; completing assignments in a safe, accurate, and timely manner; and overseeing and supporting assigned custodians in the performance of their duties.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is focused and organized, willing to learn and to lead, coach and be coached. Applicants should have leadership and experience in a public school setting, and bring working knowledge in the areas of inventory management, work order, prioritization, sanitation and overall building maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Do minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
Daily inspection of all parts of the building, keeping the Facilities Director and building Administrator informed of any building needs.
Verify and account for deliveries of school supplies and materials received by truck with the school main office staff.
Be aware of new maintenance methods and materials.
Complete daily cleaning assignments.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager, Head Custodian, and OperationsHero.
Know how to use EWPS Google Platform, such as Email, Google Calendar etc.
IRelay best practice and safety information to students, staff and the general public.
Inspect the school for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations.
Check buildings and grounds to ensure they are safe and clean.
Works with school staff, service companies and contractors to maintain and improve building needs.
Ability to work individually and as a team.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Director and Head Custodian, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Equipment
The knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment, including but not restricted to: brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuums, snow blowers, lawn tractors, shovels, power mowers, leaf blowers, weed whackers.
General knowledge on the use of computers and Google platforms.
Safety Requirements
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
Wears all appropriate safety gear.
Must comply with the school district's chemical safety program.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of the position and duties.
Physical Demands
Must possess the ability to stand, sit, and walk unassisted.
Must possess normal visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, and depth perception.
May be required to lift up to 65 pounds.
Often work indoors, moving between classrooms and other school areas.
May be exposed to noise levels that are distracting.
Works near others, often within a few feet.
Work related tasks may be subject to deadlines and time constraints, must be able to prioritize tasks.
May be assigned work in outdoor environments and be exposed to inclement weather including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Ability to complete general tasks outside such as landscaping.
Ability to work with chemicals. A properly fitted respirator will be provided if needed.

Schedule is set by the Facilities Director to meet the needs of the district.
Work Scheduled

May be called in early or after scheduled shifts in cases of emergency or natural disaster such as snow.

Hourly compensation $22.14-$30.99, based on experience and the wage table in the current collective bargaining agreement.
