Description
You will be the Mechanical Review Board Design Engineer for the JASSM production team. Our team is responsible for assembly, integration, testing, coating, and packout of the JASSM missile.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Review Board Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the production programs by identifying and resolving production issues, defects, and failures. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop and implement viable solutions, often in time‑sensitive situations. You may also support new design/development activities and test missile work, including responding to hardware change requests and preparing/implementing engineering changes via release.
Your Responsibilities
Participate as a key member in the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including reviewing non‑conforming hardware for performance impacts, identifying appropriate root cause, and ensuring corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate effort within the Mechanical, Quality and Manufacturing team.
Support weekly meetings to review status to leadership.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform tolerance analysis.
Root cause and corrective action experience.
Ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision.
Ability to review and understand engineering requirements, specifications and drawings, identify and evaluate hardware discrepancies, test failures, and provide engineering dispositions for discrepancies determined to be defects in a fast‑paced production environment.
Ability to lead investigative effort and report status to interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to work with team members and contribute to projects.
Desired Skills
Previous Material Review Board experience.
Experience with Windchill PLM and SAP.
Creo/Catia design software or similar experience.
Knowledge of composites, electronics assemblies or coating processes.
Experience in a manufacturing setting including interactions with floor supervisors, technicians, and inspectors.
Security Clearance Statement
This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Work Schedule
Part‑time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of the schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
