Lead the Systems That Keep Critical Infrastructure Running
At FST Technical Services, we ensure the most complex facilities operate exactly as intended. Our Commissioning division partners with clients across data centers and mission-critical environments to validate that systems are designed, installed, and performing at the highest level.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, field leadership, and the ability to drive outcomes in high-performance environments.

Owns system performance from design through execution
Understands how complex mechanical systems operate as a whole
Can identify and solve issues before they impact operations
You will work on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects where performance, reliability, and precision are non-negotiable.
What You will Do
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead commissioning activities across the full lifecycle
Execute functional testing, witness testing, and system validation
Manage assignments within schedule, budget, and quality expectations
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving
Evaluate HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, and automation systems
Troubleshoot system performance issues
Review design documentation
Client Engagement
Lead meetings and communicate findings
Build relationships with clients and contractors
Operational Contributions
Complete reports and manage time and expenses
Team Development
Mentor junior engineers and support training
What You Bring
Core Qualifications
Degree in HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
7+ years experience or 3+ years commissioning
Data center experience required
Technical Capabilities
Experience with HVAC, controls, automation, fire safety systems
Ability to read construction documents
Professional Skills
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in field environments and lift 30 lbs
Preferred
EIT, CEM, OSHA 30, BIM experience
Travel Requirements
Travel to project sites as needed based on project demands.
