Job Description:

Unit Highlights: A 20-bed, multi-system Progressive Care Unit (PCU) supporting the Stroke service line alongside a diverse range of medical diagnoses, including TIA, dizziness, generalized weakness, congestive heart failure, chest pain, seizures, abdominal pain, and nephrolithiasis. The unit operates in close coordination with an adjacent 16-bed observation unit, collectively managing a broad patient population undergoing evaluation and clinical decision-making for admission or discharge.

Shift: Nights 7p-7a

Schedule: 12 hours shifts every other weekend.

* Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. * Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. * Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support

Education:
Associate's of Nursing [Required]
Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:
1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]
