What you will be doing
The Electrical Design and Release Engineer (DRE) will support infotainment systems, IMUs, and amplifiers within a powersports environment. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of motorcycle electrical components—from concept and design through validation and production launch. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working with suppliers, driving cost efficiencies, and supporting system-level integration of infotainment and audio technologies.
Job Responsibilities
Define, document, and maintain vehicle-level functional requirements for Infotainment Control Units (IFCU) and associated audio components
Review, release, and manage components within the BOM system
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate motorcycle software systems, including amplifiers, audio systems, and touchscreen interfaces
Configure IFCU software and digital tools, including amplifier firmware updates and DSP tuning
Support verification and validation activities, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Validate sound systems utilizing CAN bus communication for amplifier control
Partner with suppliers to ensure infotainment and amplifier systems meet performance targets (power consumption, audio quality, cost optimization)
What you'll need to be successful
3+ years of experience in automotive, transportation, or powersports industries
Experience with low-voltage electrical systems, CAN bus architecture, and embedded/software integration
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Working knowledge of vehicle development cycles (DV, PV, SOP) and applicable automotive safety standards
Proven ability to collaborate with suppliers on design, cost, and performance improvements
