Pile Driver - Charleston, SC
This position is responsible for driving and installing various types of piles, such as steel, timber, or concrete, to support foundations and structures in marine and land-based environments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with pile driving operations, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safe, productive work on challenging and dynamic job sites.
Primary responsibilities include rigging and setting piles (square and round concrete piles, steel pipe and H-piles) in the proper location and driving them to grade using hydraulic, diesel, or vibratory hammers. Proper knowledge of using and maintaining any type of power equipment required to fulfill job description is necessary. Understanding and compliance with all company safety policies and procedures while performing job duties is mandatory. Additional duties include handling, attaching, and removing rigging from piling, pile hammer, and hammer leads, operating winches to align barge at proper location, installing and removing pile templates, operating pile hammers, properly signaling cranes, and cutting off piles at proper elevation.
Minimum qualifications include rigging and signaling certification preferred, at least 1 year of experience, understanding construction safety standards and productively working safely, ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency, willingness to work out of town and travel to project locations, and valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
