About this Role
The Senior Analyst, Impact Investing at Liberty Mutual Investments plays a critical role in supporting comprehensive diligence and developing recommendations on co‑investment opportunities. In this position, you will analyze companies and sectors to understand critical value creation levers and model potential outcomes of investments. You will also assess fund investment opportunities by evaluating prior performance, conducting reference checks, examining underlying portfolio investments, and modeling fund performance. A key component of this role involves effectively screening new opportunities by identifying and succinctly communicating investment highlights and key risk considerations. You will work alongside the impact evaluation and measurement team, performing impact diligence parallel to financial diligence, and making thoughtful recommendations on maximizing the impact of investments. This role also involves managing and monitoring current portfolio investments and preparing thorough portfolio progress reports to ensure alignment with goals. Your contribution to overall portfolio management is crucial, along with your collaboration in a team‑based environment to achieve consensus in decision‑making processes.

Responsibilities

Support comprehensive diligence and develop recommendations on co‑investment opportunities.

Analyze companies and sectors to understand critical value creation levers and model potential outcomes.

Evaluate prior performance and conduct reference checks for fund investment opportunities.

Examine underlying portfolio investments and model fund performance.

Effectively screen new opportunities and succinctly communicate investment highlights and key risk considerations.

Assist with impact evaluation and measurement, making thoughtful recommendations to increase and maximize the impact of investments.

Manage and monitor current portfolio investments and prepare portfolio progress reports.

Assist with the overall management of the portfolio.

Requirements

Strong academic record from a competitive institution.

2-4 years of relevant work experience (Investment Banking, Private Equity, etc.).

Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and articulate key investment considerations and risks.

Good interpersonal and team skills, comfortable with consensus decision‑making and working in a collaborative, team‑based environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external investment professionals and executives.

Strong presentation skills to articulate an investment recommendation or industry thesis concisely and organized manner.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and time‑sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy.

Passion for and understanding of investing and the private equity industry.
