
Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a qualified Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. You will be working on-site in Simi Valley as part of a lean finance department helping to support the month‑end close cycle and managing the annual budgeting process. The department handles all accounting, report preparation, accounts payable and accounts receivable, audit, budget and tax reporting. This position will report to the Controller and collaborate with the CFO.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the annual budgeting process for 17 departments.
Proactively monitor budget adherence and continuously analyze financial results.
Identify revenue‑generating and cost‑savings opportunities.
Serve as the primary business partner, in collaboration with the CFO, to guide and advise department directors and managers.
Perform cost‑benefit analyses for various initiatives and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to evaluate strategic business decisions.
Review budget to actuals with department leadership on a monthly basis to provide insight into performance and help coordinate strategic decisions.
Prepare reports for managerial review upon request, including expense, income, vendor, bequests, and miscellaneous ad hoc queries.
Assist other departments with financial related analysis and problem solving.
Support the accounting team by tracking recurring expenses and preparing and entering monthly expense accruals.
Review and update corporate credit card transactions for proper support and coding and entering monthly entries.
Maintain and manage the contracts schedule.
Review preliminary financials to ensure revenue and expenses are properly recorded prior to month‑end close.
Provide commentary for variance analysis.
Track the progress of capital expenditures with project owners and advise when projects are complete.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve and document financial processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Other duties as assigned. Foundation staff are often called upon to assist with events involving the public. These are generally after hours and require direct contact with the public and our special guests.
Qualifications and Requirements
Passionate about President Ronald Reagan’s legacy and principles: individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, statistics, finance or related field and five years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience.
MBA preferred.
Experience with non‑profits preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills which build trust, foster collaboration and ensure alignment between financial goals and business strategies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Resourceful and possess excellent problem‑solving skills.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, and management reporting.
Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple simultaneous priorities.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with a strong sense of personal integrity.
Eager to learn and participate in continuous improvement.
Positive attitude.
Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events, including the Reagan National Defense Forum and the Reagan National Economic Forum.
Salary and Benefits
This is an exempt, full‑time position based at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. This position is in‑person with the potential of becoming a hybrid role (partially in person and partially remote).
This position will be compensated based on an annual salary starting at $90,000. The rate will be commensurate with experience.
The Foundation offers an excellent package of benefits, including:

12 vacation days per year for the first five years, with a step up after the 5th and 10th year.
