Location & Work Environment
This is a 100% in‑office role based in Schaumburg, IL. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Position Overview
The HR Consultant I evaluates and defines client needs, consulting on the configuration of HR applications, including data conversion, performance management, onboarding and self‑service portal usage.
Primary Responsibilities
Help clients with simple setups and strategically integrate the full suite of HR products through effective project management and a consultative HR approach.
Provide industry‑leading customer service.
Conduct an introduction call to verify contracted HR products, understand client priorities, and craft a suggested timeline.
Conduct an alignment call to answer product‑specific questions, collect HR data and configuration requirements.
Work directly with clients to assist in day‑to‑day functions supporting HR solutions throughout implementation.
Coordinate internally between client and multiple Paylocity departments to ensure clients have every tool needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Previous customer service or client‑interfacing role preferred.
Familiarity with a wide variety of HR concepts, practices and procedures preferred.
Willingness to perform a full range of tasks and projects under supervision.
Strong interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods at a desk (7-8 hours per day).
Ability to use computer, phone systems, and type, including multiple software programs simultaneously.
Compensation
Pay range: $43,500 – $60,000 per year. Base pay may vary based on knowledge, skills and experience.
