Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer to be part of the Secure the Enterprise initiative, developing capabilities to shift from the current manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a new model that emphasizes automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering across the entire life cycle of a project.
Responsibilities
Provide the development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of various Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data model management capabilities using Django and Flask frameworks to interact with data models such as MariaDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, and send data upon request in JSON format to UI front ends.
Provide middleware and backend support to all system applications.
Debug existing software and correct defects.
Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
Write or review software and system documentation.
Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, consulting with users or system engineers; analyze system flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas.
Modify existing software to correct errors and improve its performance.
Telework
This position may allow for telework based on program requirements.
Clearance
A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
Qualifications & Experience
Seven (7) years' experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
