Electrical Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Main Purpose:
The Electrical Supervisor upholds the safety regulations of our company and supervises production processes to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations, budget and delivery requirements. This position is responsible for supervising a large, diverse and talented electrical team. The primary goal of this position is to properly organize team members and achieve an efficient and productive workflow throughout the day. This position will also include directing, disciplining, training and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role is also responsible for supervising the electrical integration of high-voltage commercial-grade systems in custom enclosures while ensuring compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and local electrical requirements.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate and supervise daily activities of electricians

Assure monthly goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met

Collaborate with other departments to coordinate workflow, prevent bottlenecks and ensure each stage of the manufacturing process flows smoothly into the next

Set priorities for the team to ensure daily task completion

Monitor, track and meet project budgeted labor hours

Ensure employee timecards are correct and labor hours are properly recorded, including rework

Interpret and execute policies and procedures

Monitor processes to ensure quality standards are met

Coach and lead the electrical team, ensuring compliance with all electrical codes and requirements and adherence to all safety policies

Communicate with and assist other departments as needed

Ensure proper staging of materials at each workstation

Ensure production efficiencies meet or exceed expectations

Implement cost-saving strategies and techniques

Ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery

Maintain a clean and safe environment for all employees

Support continuous improvement

Administer company policies consistently and fairly

Ensure quality hold points are followed and all products are reviewed and signed off prior to completion

Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:

Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing

Turning, twisting, bending and balancing

Pushing, pulling and reaching

Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

5+ years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, specifically electrical installation

Louisiana or local Journeyman Electrician Certification

Experience with PLCs, motor controls and automation systems

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints

Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC), safety procedures and troubleshooting practices

Read, write and speak proficient English

Ability to supervise multiple projects and departments simultaneously

Knowledgeable in assembly manufacturing

Ability to provide clear, explicit verbal directions

Ability to plan shop flow and execute goals

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Ability to analyze and solve issues pertaining to quality, safety and production

Excellent coaching and communication skills

Ability to work within a team environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

Forklift experience

Previous experience with electrical integration of high-voltage commercial-grade systems in custom generator enclosures

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

Computer and office equipment; assemblies; electrical systems, wiring and equipment; Blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams; PLCs, control panels and motors etc.

Environmental Conditions:
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
